Obituary of Chad Blanchette

Chad Thomas Blanchette passed away at his home on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Chad came into this world on May 29, 1977 at 8:26pm, born to Lisa (Robinson) Shock and Thomas Oerther. Chad loved music, songwriting, sports, drawing, Batman, Michael Jordan, and especially his dog Hopper. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1995 and received his Diploma from Specs Howard Broadcasting School. He worked in AM Radio as a DJ for an AM Christian Station in Livonia, Michigan many years ago. In fifth grade Chad was tested at college level, he would brag that he didn't have to study for any test and that he would still get an A, and he usually did. Chad we will never forget you, thank you for being our son, we love you. Chad is survived by his mother and stepfather: Lisa (Francis) Shock; father and stepmother: Robert (Cindy) Blanchette; sister and future brother-in-law: Ryan (Greg); nephew: Brady William; and niece: Molly Elizabeth. He is also survived by daughter: Laura Ashley Blanchette; son: Tyler Jordan Wurtsmith both of Trenton, Michigan. Also his faithful, loving companion: Hopper; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by "The best Grandma you could ever have" Bertha (Sis) Robinson who passed away in his arms May 28, 2009. His aunt (Godmother): Marsha Robinson Wortman, July 28, 2009; and his Pal and Papa: William K. Robinson, October 12, 1989 when he was 12 years old; grandmothers: Nancy Blanchette and Mildred Oerther; grandfathers: Thomas Blanchette and Alden Oerther. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help the family with funeral expenses or a donation can be made in Chad's name to the Monroe County Humane Society. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 7:00pm with Father William Fisher pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Cremation will follow and private burial of his cremains will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
