Obituary of Luetta Larrow

Luetta Marie Montri was born in Ida Township on February 6, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Abner and Leola (Bauer) Montri. She attended Yargerville School . Luetta supported the World War II effort by working at a Monroe munitions plant. She married the love of her life Peter A. Larrow on May 22, 1943 at St. Joseph Church in Ida, and from this union came the birth of six children. Luetta became a homemaker and helped Peter on the family farm.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed gardening and cultivating vegetables and flowers. Luetta was very supportive of her children's 4-H involvement at the Monroe County Fair and looked forward each year to exhibiting herself. She was a member of the Lucky 12 Euchre Club for more than forty years. Luetta and Pete enjoyed traveling, visiting Canada, California, and the Holy Land and they also spent much time wintering with their son Tim in Baton Rouge, LA. Luetta was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie and a past member of their Altar Society.
Luetta Marie Larrow age 88 passed away at 11:05am on Friday, July 22, 2011. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband on June 7, 2003 and son: Timothy in 1999.
She leaves to cherish her memory five children: Rollin (Mary) Larrow of Luna Pier, Douglas (Patricia) Larrow of Temperance, Nicholas (Vicky) Larrow of Walbridge, Ohio, Amy (Warren) Kollar of Petersburg, and Rhonda (Jay) Collins of Zachary, LA; five siblings: Al (Jeannette) Montri of Florida, LaVerne (Mary) Montri, Gerald (Myrna S.) Montri, Dale (Patricia) Montri, and Myrna L. (Edwin) Riffle all of Ida; eleven grandchildren: Lisa Larrow, Rebecca (Dan) Behm, Wendy (Tim) Murdock, Brian (Racheal) Kollar, Christian (Greg) St. Romain, Hope (Jim) Cousino, Peter (Kelly) Larrow, Nicholas and Derick Larrow, and Mickayla and Kortland Collins; and ten great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 2:00-8:00pm, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit (734) 848-5185 where a Rosary will take place at 7:00pm. She will lie in state from 10:30am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am, Monday, July 25 at St. Joseph Church, 2238 Manhattan. Father Frederik Kalaj pastor of the church will officiate.
