David Allen Bernstein April 3, 1952 - June 15, 2011 David Allen Bernstein was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 3, 1952. He was the only child born from the union of the late Albert Bernstein and the late Agnes (Randall) Bernstein. He married the former Gesina Schoormans-Vanderhoef. From this union came the birth of a daughter: Kimberly. David obtained his Associate Degree from Monroe County Community College. He had been employed as a Sales Representative in the agricultural industry for many years. David was a member of the Democratic Party and the Luna Pier Harbor Club. He loved to fish, read, and loved politics. David served as Supervisor of Bedford Township for two years, and he had also served as a County Commissioner in 1979, after which he began his career in sales. David was well-known for his generosity and loyalty. He was also trustworthy, a wonderful husband, and a superb grandfather to his two grandchildren: Samantha and Johnathon. It could be argued that the grandchildren were the love of his life. David Allen Bernstein age 59 of Luna Pier a lifelong Monroe County resident passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Toledo Hospital. His passing was preceded by his parents. To cherish his memory David leaves his wife: Gesina of Luna Pier; his daughter: Kimberly Kreais-Bernstein of Florida; and two grandchildren: Samantha Lee Kreais of Luna Pier and Johnathon Ray Kreais of Luna Pier. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held in his honor. Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street in Erie (734) 848-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements.
