Obituary of Suzzette Leffew

Suzzette Leffew was born in in Monroe, Michigan on August 27, 1965. She was one of three children born from the union of Robert Leffew Jr. and June (Stepp) Leffew. She attended Monroe High School. Suzzette supported herself and helped others by performing cleaning duties for numerous individuals for more than fifteen years prior to taking a medical retirement. She had a passion for others. Suzzette was big-hearted and sensitive, and freely gave of herself. She had a great sense of humor often teasing others lightheartedly, and had an infectious laugh. Suzzette was very independent. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to "live life on the edge". Her risk taking often involved games of chance. She liked to play bingo wherever she could find a game, complete scratch off cards, and play card games especially poker. Other favorite pastimes included playing Farmville on Facebook, and she enjoyed being active in her local church. Suzzette Leffew age 45 of a lifelong Monroe County resident passed away at 3:25pm, Friday, June 10, 2011 at Fountainview of Monroe. She was under the care of Erie West Hospice and her beloved family was at her side. To cherish her memory she leaves four children: Spring (Kennith) Disney of Livonia, Dustin Leffew of Wayne, Dean Leffew of Monroe, and Ryan Leffew of Yukon, Oklahoma; her parents: Robert Leffew Jr. of Monroe and June Stepp of Crossville, Tennessee; one brother: Gregory Leffew of Monroe; one sister: Linda (Richard) Rogers of Naperville, Illinois; two grandchildren: Ethan Leffew and Makayla Leffew, and a host of friends. Cremation has taken place. Friends may gather from 6:00pm until a Celebration of Her Life at 7:00pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, 14260 South Dixie Highway. The Rev. Roy Southerland pastor of the church will officiate. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with her arrangements. Memorial donations are suggested to Erie West Hospice.
