November 27, 1945 - May 24, 2011 Kenneth Lee McBee was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 27, 1945. He was the son of Floyd R. McBee and Margaret (Broom) McBee. Kenneth served his country honorably as a Private First Class with the United States Army. Kenneth was employed by several companies including Roberts Security for forty-five years retiring in 2008. He took his responsibility of providing for his family very seriously; some would say he was even a little obsessive about paying his bills. Kenneth married the love of his life Ida Asbury on February 18, 1989 in Monroe. His family meant the world to him. He was always asking of his children and grandchildren, "is everybody happy". Kenneth was extremely clumsy but he was the family barbequer. He loved his wife and enjoyed pampering her. She adored him just the same and called him the greatest husband in the world. Kenneth had a great sense of humor. He loved to fish, and play pool, but baseball was his favorite pastime and the Detroit Tigers his favorite team. His motto was "don't take any wooden nickels". Kenneth Lee McBee age 65 a lifelong resident of Monroe passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. He had been under the care of Mercy Memorial Hospice.
