Please share a memory of Jeffary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeffary Hood was born in Chicago on January 8, 1958. He was the son of the late Cedell and the late Florine (Staggers) Hood. Jeff accepted Christ at an early age, and attended school in the Chicago area before moving to Monroe in 1977. Jeff met and married Brenda Hoye on November 4, 1991. Jeff had worked for several local companies throughout the yeas as a general laborer and fork lift operator. Most recently, Jeff had been employed by IMA. He had attended truck driving school through USA Training Academy. Jeff found true joy in helping others. He could often be found going out of his way to serve others by offering rides or a hand. He was gifted with a beautiful voice and after becoming a member of the Al Overstreet Evangelistic Ministries in Monroe he often led the congregation in songs of worship to his Good Lord. Jeff enjoyed fishing, and he was a talented cook. The neighborhood will forever miss his backyard fish fry. He was a patient man, a friend to all. His memory was shared with his soulmate: Brenda K., children: Shaquana Hood and Jakari Pippens both of Monroe; several grandchildren; a brother: Jerome (Bridget) Hood of Chicago; a sister-in-law: Barbara Hood of Chicago; a beloved mother-in-law: Mattie Hoye; brother-in-law: Frank Hoye, sister-in-law: Suzanne Hoye (Victor); a host of nieces and nephews, and many, many friends including three special friends: Melvin "Red" Harris, Dennis Presley, and Dan. Jeffary Hood, a faithful servant of our Lord was born into Eternal Life on his 51st birthday Thursday, January 8, 2009. His loving family was at his side. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by four brothers: Ray, Leonard, and Robert Hood, Bill Muldrow, and a sister: Linda Hood. He will forever be remembered as a loved and very well respected God fearing man of his community. His memory will forever be cherished. The Hood Family will receive friends from 11:00am until a Homegoing Celebration at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, (734) 384-5185. The Rev.
