Obituary of Nathan Harris
Please share a memory of Nathan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nathan I. Harris, age 32, passed away unexpectedly at his Carleton home on Sunday evening, September 7, 2008.
He was born December 21, 1975 in Monroe, Michigan from the marriage of Bobby Harris and Joan (Joblinski) Harris. Nathan attended Airport Public Schools. He married Melissa Smith on July 21, 2001.
Nathan above all else loved to spend time with his family, and especially his children. He would talk about his children to anyone that would listen. The Harris family gatherings always included food, and Nathan was no stranger to the kitchen, and his cooking was delightful. Serving guests the food that he prepared was a passion.
Nathan enjoyed working with his hands. This included spending time in the garden. Some of his other abilities included writing poetry and music. He enjoyed playing his music by strumming the bass guitar or jamming the drums. He had a true love for life and this extended to a love for animals and his hobby of breeding rabbits.
He spent most of his working life in the residential construction field. This lifelong occupation became a desire to be even more hands on. Several months ago Nathan took a leap of faith and began his own company, Pinnacle Construction.
He had attended the North Monroe Street Church of God, Mountain Assembly.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving son: Jace Smith of Monroe; a beloved daughter: Jaiden Harris also of Monroe; his devoted parents: Bobby and Joan Harris of Carleton; a paternal grandmother: Ivy Lou Harris of Newport; four brothers: Bobby Harris of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Scott (Lenee Adspen) Harris of Newport; Timothy Harris of Pittsburgh, PA, and Billy (Desiree) Harris of Monroe; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends; and his four legged friends, dogs: Rocky and Fargo; and cat: Nikko.
