Obituary of Deborah Keener

Deborah Ann Keener, age 59, of Monroe died at 7:35pm; Monday at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor. She had been ill from Multiple Sclerosis for several years.
She was born December 3, 1948 in Adrian, Michigan the daughter of the late Donald and Frances (Stetten) Snyder. For the past 45 years she has made her home in Monroe.
She married Robert Keener on February 14, 1967 in Monroe, while he was home on a weekend pass from Vietnam. Deborah had worked in nursing at Memorial Hospital on Stewart Road, but most recently she was a homemaker.
Deborah was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3943 in Newport. For many years she had attended St. Anne's Catholic Church, Frenchtown Township.
In addition to her husband of forty-one years she leaves to cherish her memory: a son: Robert C. Keener II of Monroe; three daughters: Tabetha and Brian Liparoto of Bean Station, Tennessee; Brandy and Jason Young of Monroe, and Leah and Lorne Craig of Temperance; also eight grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Donald Snyder and Frances Hall, and a brother: Larry Snyder.

Friends may Gather at Merkle Funeral Service on Thursday; April 17, 2008 from 2:00pm until a Celebration of Her Life at 4:00pm. Burial will take place on Friday afternoon at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
