Donald Marohn November 3, 1939—February 16, 2012 Donald Marohn was born November 3, 1939 in Detroit. He was the son of the late Arthur and the late Dorothy (Leader) Marohn. Donald enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably. For more than thirty-three years Donald worked for Conrail Railroad. Donald was a member of the National Rifle Association and loved to hunt and fish. He also loved his 1968 Camaro and spending time with his friends talking about and restoring cars. Donald was also an avid NASCAR fan. He was a wonderful father, never letting his son want for anything, and he strived to fulfill the needs of others. He is survived by his son: Gregory (Odetta) Marohn; a brother: Art (Joyce) Marohn; and nephews: Bob and Ron. Donald Marohn, age 72, of Lambertville passed away on February 16, 2012 at the Toledo Hospital. In addition to his parents Donald's passing was preceded by his grandparents. Cremation has taken place. Friends may gather from 2:00-7:00pm, Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Merkle Funeral Service Erie, 9156 Summit Street, Erie, MI (734)848-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place at 7:00pm with Pastor Kenny Spain Associate Pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
