Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Held, age 41, of Newport, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday; July 13, 2008 at his home.
Kenny is described by his family as a simple man. Kenny was a man who knew what was important in life; HIS FAMILY. He loved to spend time with his wife Leslie and children Levi and Lydia. His family adored him. He had a passion for the outdoors as well and he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kenny even loved a cold winter day. This was opportunity to spend time with family and friends on the snowmobile.
Kenny was no stranger to hard work. For many years he had operated Heavy Equipment and drove truck. The past year Kenny had been employed by Faro Contractors in the Downriver area.
Kenny was born February 23, 1967 in Riverview, Michigan from the union of Wayne Held and Linda (Carmon) Held. Kenny attended Jefferson Schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1985. On May 18, 1999 he married Leslie Waldron in Toledo, Ohio.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife: Leslie of Newport; a beloved son Levi; and a loving daughter: Lydia both at home; his mother and father: Wayne and Linda Held of Colon, Michigan; his mother and father-in-law: Floretta and Keith Waldron of Monroe; a grandfather: Kenneth Carmon of Monroe; a grandmother: Winifred Waldron of Ottawa Lake; a sister: LeAnn Owens of Flat Rock; a brother and sister-in-law: Ryan and Tisha Held of Monroe; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Rhonda and Jude Rorke, Angela and Erik Boldt, and Ashley and Richard Crawford all of Monroe; and twelve nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends may gather Wednesday; July 16, 2008 from 1-8pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Frenchtown Twp, (734) 384-5185. Friends may also gather at Merkle Funeral Service on Thursday; July 17, 2008 from 10:00am until a Celebration of His Life at 11:00am. Pastor Bruce Crabtree of Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroe will officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle for burial.
