Gladys Marie Moore
December 5, 1936 - October 18, 2010
Gladys Marie Terry was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 5, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Earl Newell Terry and the late Millie Ann (Padgett) Terry. Gladys was a graduate of Monroe High School.
She was a homemaker, but more than that she was a mother to her five children. Although raising the children was her responsibility, it actually was her pleasure. She truly enjoyed being a part of their lives. Gladys was referred to as the backbone of the family.
Later in life, Gladys appreciated the company of her grandchildren. She had many diverse interests including the love of picnics, hanging out at the pool, playing shuffle board, poker and bingo. She also enjoyed the likes of ceramics, dancing and listening to her country music.
Gladys liked to hang out with her family, and Butch's garage was a favorite meeting place. No matter where she went, Gladys never seemed to be without her glass of ice chips. Gladys will be remembered for her open-minded feistiness, and as an avid Detroit Tiger fan, but a strong critic of their mistakes.
Gladys Marie Moore age 73, a lifelong Monroe resident passed away peacefully at 1:42am on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Fountainview of Monroe. Her passing was preceded by her parents.
