Mabel Amelia Rosati
September 13, 1930 - January 10, 2010
Mabel Amelia Emerson was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 13, 1930. Mabel was one of five children born from the union of the late Arnold C. Emerson and the late Amelia Catherine (Bauerle) Emerson. Mabel attended St. Michael's School and Monroe High School.
She married Angelo Rosati on September 30, 1950 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish. Mabel enjoyed being a homemaker raising the couple's four daughters. For many years, she also assisted Angelo with the operation of Rosati's Market on Cole Road.
She enjoyed bowling and participated in several leagues over the years at Monroe Sports Center. Mabel also enjoyed golfing, first with her beloved Angelo while traveling and later she played many rounds at the Dundee Golf Club with wonderful friends. She appreciated the opportunity to spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She had enjoyed many activities at St. Anne Parish where she was a member.
Mabel Amelia Rosati age 79 of Monroe passed away at 2:15pm, Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the Lutheran Home of Monroe. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by her husband: Angelo on May 14, 1979, a great grandson: Matthew Aulph, two sisters: Ruth Discher and Pearl Navarre and a brother: Arnold Emerson.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters: Linda K. Black and Angela (Gary) Michel both of Monroe, Laura (John) Naida of Mequon, Wisconsin, and Pam (Walt) Baczkowski of Bloomfield Hills; a sister: Edna Kinsey of Monroe; twelve grandchildren: Holly (Jeff) Wallace, Heidi (Anthony) Colon, Stacy Black, Shelly (Bill) Aulph, John Michel, Mandy Michel, Brittany, Danielle, and David Naida, Ben, Madalyn, and Joseph Baczkowski; and six great grandchildren: Kaelen, Mya, Gabe, Alana, Brayden, and Corinna.
Friends may gather from 12:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2010 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. Members of the St. Anne Men's Club and Jennifer Discher a niece will lead the Rosary at 6:30pm. She will lie in state from 10:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at St. Anne, 2420 North Dixie Highway. Father William Fisher of St. Joseph Church will officiate. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery for burial.
