Orlie William "Frankie" Frankhouse
July 30, 1933 - January 7, 2010
Orlie William Frankhouse was born on July 30, 1933 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of eleven children born from the union of the late John Jacob Frankhouse and the late Clara Ellen (Pierson) Frankhouse.
Orlie or as his friends called him "Frankie" enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served honorably as a paratrooper. Frankie often justified to his daughters that although he was actually 6'4" his short stature was due to the fact that he jumped a few too many times.
For more than thirty-five years Orlie was employed by Kuhlman Concrete as a truck driver. He was a member of the local Teamsters Union and retired in 1990.
Frankie was an avid hunter and fisher. He was a member of the Canvasback Gun Club for many years. He also enjoyed trap shooting and card playing especially poker.
Frankie spent a great deal of time golfing and touching up his game watching golf. He probably will be most remembered for his great sense of humor, and his uncanny ability to give others a hard time. His daughters warmly referred to him as their "Casanova".
Orlie "Frankie" Frankhouse of Monroe passed away at 12:45am, Thursday, January 7, 2010 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by two brothers: Johnny and Kenny Frankhouse, and three sisters: Millie Cornish, Geraldine Kennedy, and Mildred Mushing.
