Obituary of Shirley Person
Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Shirley Mae Richardson was born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania on June 6, 1937. She was one of eight children the daughter of the late Orvis Isaac Richardson and the late Sara Ellen (Wingard) Richardson.
Shirley married the love of her life Carl Edmund Person on December 24, 1954. She was as they say joined at the hip with her husband. Shirley became a homemaker and proudly looked after the couple's three children. The young family moved from Pennsylvania to Michigan on Labor Day weekend in 1965. They lived in Rockwood for the next twenty-five years before moving and settling in Frenchtown Township.
More than anything Shirley loved her God. She attended the Stewart Road Church of God for more than forty years. She also was in love with her family. As a person, Shirley was sweet and loving never uttering a harsh word about others, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren meant the world to her. In her free time Shirley loved to garden, watch television, and she was an avid Tiger baseball fan.
Shirley Mae Person age 74 of Monroe passed from this world to her Heavenly home on Thursday, February 2, 2012. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by three brothers: Orvis, Glenn, and Ronnie; and three sisters: Alma, Helen, and Betty.
