William Harold Anderson
March 15, 1932 - April 1, 2010
William Harold Anderson was born in Sand Point, Idaho on March 15, 1932. He was one of four sons born form the union of the late Charles Anderson and the late Mildred (Rustad) Anderson.
William served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army. He married the former Mildred Wells on August 5, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed working in his garden, and loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Bill was also a small plane pilot. He had a special place in his life for his dogs.
For many years, Bill worked as a refrigeration superintendent installing heating and cooling systems in large commercial buildings including apartments, schools, and hospitals. He was a Life Member of Local Union 741 in Tucson, Arizona and Local 469 in Phoenix and recently obtained his Fifty Year Pin.
Bill served as the President of the Payson Humane Society Board of Directors and spent countless hours volunteering at the shelter. He was also an Elder in Presbyterian Churches in Tucson and Payson, AZ, and was head of the maintenance committees in several churches throughout the years. He was the past president of the Round Valley Road Maintenance Association and spent many hours volunteering.
Bill was also very active with Millie volunteering for the Men's Recovery Program of the Phoenix Rescue Mission, and some of his happiest moments were spent there.
The Anderson's moved to Monroe two years ago from Sun City, AZ. They attended LaSalle Presbyterian Church.
Bill age 78 of Monroe passed away at 7:34am, Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Regency Hospital in Sylvania. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by two brothers: Ronald and Robert.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of forty-six years: Mildred Louise (Wells) Anderson of Monroe; a daughter: Susan Mary (Ronald) Sobek of Overgaard, Arizona; a brother: James Anderson of New Hope, Minnesota; two grandchildren: Mitchel Sobek and Ronda Sobek both of Overgaard, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were held, and cremation has taken place. Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185 was entrusted with his arrangements.
