Obituary of Matthew Fifer
Please share a memory of Matthew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Matthew Mark Fifer was born July 16, 1986 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His mother and father, Mark Fifer and Penny (Sayles) Fifer, joyfully welcomed Matthew in to the family. He graduated from Airport High School with the class of 2004 and attended the Michigan Institute of Aviation and Technology earning his diploma in Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance Technology in 2006. Matthew supported himself employed as a Production Worker at Plastic Ominum in New Boston.
Matthew loved the Lord and received his spiritual nourishment at Stewart Road Church of God in Monroe. He had a kind essence about him and enjoyed helping others. Although he was quiet and unassuming, once you got to know him, Matthew was quite the jokester and like to tease others. He appreciated the outdoors enjoying bicycling, camping, fishing and jet skiing. In his quiet time, he enjoyed making special jewelry pieces for his family and friends.
Matthew Mark Fifer, age 29, of Carleton passed away at 5:48pm on June 1, 2016 at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. His passing was preceded by his maternal grandparents: Charles and Winifred Sayles; and his paternal grandparents: Walter and Catherine Wyke.
To cherish his memory, Matthew leaves his loving parents: Mark and Penny Fifer of Carleton; his aunts and uncles, along with many cousins; and his canine companions: Dusty and Daisy.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185.
