Obituary of Manuel Bijarro

Manuel Espinosa Bijarro May 26, 1932- May 15, 2016 Manuel Espinosa Bijarro was born on May 26, 1932 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was one of seven children born from the union of the late Jose Bijarro and the late Sara (Espinosa) Bijarro. Manuel married the former Marion F. Card on May 26, 1967, in Erie, Michigan. For more than thirty-two years, Manuel supported his family employed as a laborer for the State of Michigan retiring in 1995. He was a proud member of Local 465. Manuel enjoyed staying active for many years. He loved to dance and play pool, and one of his favorite pastimes was playing bingo with his brother: Dino and sister-in-law: Pat. Manuel also loved spending time outdoors camping and fishing with family and friends. Manuel Espinosa Bijarro, age 83, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Magnumcare of Monroe. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by his wife: Marion in 1999; two sons: B.J. Bijarro and Ray Bijarro; two grandsons; brothers: Henry Bijarro, Tony Bijarro, and Reinaldo Garcia. To cherish his memory Manuel leaves sons: Juan "Nene" Bijarro, Jesse Bijarro, Anthony Bijarro, Manuel "Gordy" (Michele) Bijarro, and Al Smith; daughters: Raquel Bijarro, Yolando Pribyl, Manuella Hill, and Sarah (Stephen) Reese; stepchildren: Richard Barron, Robert Barron, Barb Kittle, Carol England; one sister: Gloria (Lalo) Martinez; and two brothers: Dino Bijarro and Juan (Alice) Orosco; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 20, 2016 also at Merkle's with Reverend Roy Southerland pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
