Robin Gail Powell
March 3, 1952 - May 10, 2016
Robin Gail Powell was born on March 3, 1952 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of three children from the union of the late Robert and late Gertrude (Cain) Wood. In her younger days, Robin was an excellent ice skater and attended Monroe Public Schools with the class of 1970.
When her daughters were very young, Robin married the love of her life, Kenneth Powell. She enjoyed her time working as a bartender at the 65 Club and as a Teacher's aide for the Monroe Public School system. Robin lived life to the fullest; she was known to be very sweet and a giving woman. She enjoyed having her family together, especially for Christmas and Thanksgiving, as they were her favorite holidays. Robin cherished the time she spent with her daughters. Robin loved her family and had a special place in her heart for her grand dog "Tequila".
Robin was a jovial woman who loved to visit beaches as much as possible, sunbathing was one of her favorite pastimes. She spent many hours crafting, crocheting, and defeating crossword puzzles. Robin took advantage of any opportunity to spend the day shopping.
Robin Gail Powell, age 64, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at 10:53 am at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. In addition to her beloved husband, Kenneth Powell, Robin was preceded by her parents: Robert and Gertrude.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her treasured, loving daughters: Rhonda (Jamie) Baldwin of Monroe and Renee (Thomas) Miller of Monroe; brothers: William (Lenore) Wood of Monroe and Jamie (Dawn) Wood of New Boston; six adored grandchildren: Richard Dusseau II, Destiny (Altimont) Plummer, John (Jenny) Noland III, Thomas Miller III, Tayler Baldwin, and Cherri Miller; six precious great grandchildren: Aniyah Plummer, Faith Parker, Adellae Plummer ,Carson Dusseau, Knox Noland, and Altimont Plummer III; and a grand-dog: "Tequila".
Robin was a tenderhearted woman who will always be loved dearly and missed by many.
A memorial luncheon is to be held at the home of Rhonda and Jamie Baldwin at 4 pm on Friday, May 13, 2016. No other services will be performed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734) 384-5185.
