Obituary of Robert F Grodi

Robert Francis Grodi was born February 12, 1947 in Monroe, Michigan he was one of two children born from the union of Robert Leo Grodi and the late Lillie Rose (Frankhouse) Grodi. He had dark hair and a pug like nose. His family and friends would know him as "Puggie". Robert worked as an assembler for the Ford Motor Company for several years before taking a medical retirement. He married the love of his life the former Janice Ann Yoakum in May of 1971. With an open mind, a big heart, and a great smile Robert merged two families together. Later Robert would work for sometime with the Toledo Blade and Free Press. Robert was blessed to be a born again Christian. He received his spiritual nourishment from attending the Monroe Full Gospel Church and Victory Temple Church both in Monroe. He was a loving soul-mate: that lived for his wife; in fact he was all about mother, a wonderful father and grandfather, and a devoted son and brother. Robert Francis Grodi age 62, of Monroe passed away at 12:57am, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Mercy Memorial Hospital he had been in declining health. His passing was preceded by his mother Lillie on December 7, 2005. He leaves to cherish his memory a beloved wife: Janice Ann Grodi of Monroe; eight children: Kimberly (George) Meyers of Monroe, Johnnie (Lee) Kelly of Temperance, Carla (Timothy) Woodby of Tennessee, Misty (Irving) Strack of Newport, "Bobby" Grodi of Monroe, Lynnette (William) Ploeger of Carleton, Abraham (Michelle) Grodi of Monroe, and Joshua (Teanna) Grodi of Monroe; his father: Robert Leo Grodi of Erie; one sister: Terry (Arling) Mayo; twenty-three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until a Celebration of His Life at 7:00pm, Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Victory Temple Church, 832 South Roessler Street. The Rev. Alfred Whitaker and the Rev. Gary Pickrell will co-officiate. Private burial will take place on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Woodland Cemetery in Monroe.
