Please share a memory of Jennifer to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jennifer Margaret Navarre July 10, 1962- April 24, 2016 Jennifer Margaret Geiger was born on July 10, 1962 in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Francis "Red" Geiger and the late Elaine (Eckenrode) Geiger. She attended Monroe Public Schools. Jennifer married Gregory Navarre in February 1981 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Monroe. From this union would come the birth of four sons. Jennifer looked after the needs of her children and husband as a homemaker. Her desire to serve others carried on into her career as well. With her servant's heart it was a natural fit for her to work as a home healthcare provider for many years. Jennifer was kind, loving, and outgoing and loved to help wherever she could. She often watched the neighbor's children or used her gift of cooking to provide a delicious dinner. Jennifer was well-known for her delicious biscuits and gravy. She also cared for animals many times taking in strays and nursing them back to health. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting often creating scarfs, hats, and blankets. Jennifer had many struggles throughout life, but always seemed to find a way to pull herself together. She had formed many strong and healthy relationships through her association with Paula's House and was a member of Narcotic's Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. Jennifer, age 53 of Monroe, passed away from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 24, 2016. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by a brother: James Geiger; and a sister: Julie Pfeister. To cherish her memory, Jennifer leaves sons: Vince (Stace) Navarre of Monroe, Phillip (Amber) Navarre of Luna Pier, Justin Navarre of Monroe, and William (Tabatha Lucio) Navarre of Monroe; three sisters: Jeannie (Pascal) Verhille of South Rockwood, Joy Holloway of Waterford; and Joan (Dennis) Tibai of Dundee; two brothers: Joe Geiger of Detroit and Mike (Karen) Smith of Monroe; three grandchildren: Forrest Navarre, Maci Navarre, and Talon Navarre, with one on the way; and a cherished friend: Diane "Shorty" LaLonde. Friends may gather on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 5:00-7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00pm also at Merkle's with a family friend: Mike Ansel officiating.
