Oh Lucy, I'm so sorry to hear of this great loss! I always loved waiting on you and Speed at the bank and seeing you in town every so often. I wish you peace and comfort at this time of loss and pray that God will keep you in His loving care now and always.

Our condoles to the Otter family and friends. The sting of death is hard for all of us. However, the bible gives us hope for the future. Perhaps you have wondered if the dead can really live again. Acts 24:15 says " There is going to be a resurrection". What can that mean for the surviving loved ones? Comfort when loved ones die; freedom from a morbid fear of death; and a "real hope for being reunited with our loved one". (John 5: 28, 29) May the bible promises bring peace and hope for the near future.

I use that title because being around Speed was truly a delightful experiance. I always enjoyed my job as a fireman on the railroad when Speed was my engineer. Not only was he a great person, he was a great teacher of his craft. I'm so thankful I have so many good memories of this man. If a man's welth was measured by the number of friends he has , believe me, Speed was a very rich man. Thanks Speed for letting me be one of those poeple. Dickie Sharpe

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Mel. At the age of 11 he took such an interest in me. We went fishing together many times along the banks of the Thunder Bay River. Of course along with that comes lots of stories and conversations together. As I learned over the years to come. Uncle Mel was always interested in what others had to say. He was only a strainger to someone once. As I grew up he was always interested in what was new in my life. When I started flying he was so proud because he to was a pilot one time. He shared many stories about his adventures. He was known as quite the barn stormer around the Carelton farm community during his short flying career. Just this past year we shared a few stories and you could still see the excitement in his eyes remembering as if it took place yesterday. He was a great man, he and Aunt Lucille have always been so supportive to myself, my brother Doug and sisters, Susan, Rhonda and Beth.
Mel loved family get togethers and sharing a good meal. He loved good old home cooking. As it think back about the time I have spent with Mel, I now realize that he has taught me a valuable lesson, in how important it is to listen and learn from others. He will be sadly missed but his many memories will continue to be shared by his many friends and family.
Mel, God loves ya, and so do I. Thanks for you love. Dave

My sincerest condolences go out to the Otter family. It was a pleasure to know and work with "Speed" for many years. As a young fireman on the railroad I was fortunate to work with him on many occasions, mostly on the road. He taught me a lot and surely will be missed. RIP "Speed"...
