Obituary of Amber Sokolik

Amber Annmarie Sokolik January 31, 1985 - March 24, 2016 Amber Annmarie Sokolik was born on January 31, 1985 in Ferguson, Missouri. She was the youngest child born from the union of the late Ronald Sokolik Sr. and the late Beverly (Carney) Sokolik. At a young age, Amber, moved with her family back to Northwest Ohio where she attended Toledo Public Schools. She graduated from Waite High School with the Class of 2004. Amber was blessed with the birth of two daughters. She loved them so dearly and always focused on putting their needs above her own. Amber enjoyed helping at their schools, and she enjoyed playing at the park, playing games, and completing art projects together. Recently, she gave of herself as a volunteer at RiverPoint Ministries where she helped the needy through their outreach programs. Amber enjoyed playing video games, was an avid fan of WWE wrestling, and loved to keep up with St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. She enjoyed listening to all types of music but especially those composed in the 80's. Amber Annmarie Sokolik, age 31 of Point Place passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at her home. Her passing had been preceded by her father in 1997 and her mother in 2003. To cherish her memory she leaves two beautiful daughters: Autumn A. Taylor and Erika M. Taylor both of Toledo; a brother: Ronald J. (Mikel) Sokolik Jr. of Sylvania; paternal aunts: Donna Eko of Farmington Hills and Kim (Kelley) Prawdzik of Lincoln Park; maternal aunts: Barbara (John) Denniss and Janis Carney both of Southgate; paternal uncle: Bobby (Ann) Cavins of Southgate; two beloved nieces: Sky and Mikayla Sokolik; and one beloved nephew: Eddie "E.J." Binford-Sokolik. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 also at Merkle's with Minister Andre King of the Monroe Church of Christ officiating. Private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
