Obituary of Michael Ginther

Michael Eugene Ginther was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 29, 1961. He was one of two children born from the union of the late Eugene and the late Diane E. (Costlow) Ginther. Michael was a graduate of Erie Mason High School, and continued to further his education for many years in various areas within medical care.
He married the love of his life, the former Barbara Suydam on August 28, 1993. From this union would come the birth of two beautiful daughters. Michael provided for his family by working for various places, including the mobile Intensive Care Unit at Toledo Hospital until taking medical retirement in 2005. For more than twenty years, he was an active volunteer fireman and EMT, previously with the Morin Point Volunteer Fire Department.
Mike strong passion for education, for many years he served on the Mason Consolidated School board. He was a huge sports fanatic, and his love for Mason sports kept him an active fan at most games. Though he was never able to enlist into the military, he supported his community as an active member of the Erie VFW Auxiliary. Mike was always lost in conversation with anyone that crossed his path. He was a supportive husband and father, Michael's life was his girls. Mike enjoyed staying home on most days, often spent cross stitching.
Michael Eugene Ginther, age 54 of Erie, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded by his parents.
To cherish his memory, Michael leaves his wife of twenty two years: Barbara Ginther of Erie; two daughters: Carrie and Megan Ginther of Erie; one sister: Lori Boroff of Toledo; and dozens of other family members and friends.
Friends may gather on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 4:00pm until 6:00 pm at Erie Mason High School, 2400 Eagle Drive in Erie. There will be a fireman walk through at 6:00pm followed by a Celebration of His Life with Reverend Donna Ebanks of Northpoint Church of the Nazarene officiating. Friends are invited to the Erie VFW on Friday, November 20th from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit Mike's family.
