Obituary of Debra Huber

Debra Leigh Young was born in Delray, Michigan on July 28, 1951. She was the younger of two daughters born from the union of the late Charley Lloyd Young and the late Bertha (Vigue) Young. Debra attended Taylor Schools. Debra moved to Monroe in 1999 to be closer to her family. More than anything she cherished the time she spent with her great nieces and nephews. Their feelings were mutual, as they adored her as well. Debra was a gifted cook, and she enjoyed entertaining and preparing meals for family and friends. She enjoyed learning, always taking new courses to broaden her knowledge, and often took the time to try new things. Debra loved many types of music, and when she listened it was usually extremely loud. Debra Leigh Huber, age 64, of Monroe peacefully passed away at 12:23am on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family, and under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice. Her passing was preceded by her father in January of 1996 and her mother in April of 2010. To cherish her memory Debra leaves her beloved sister: Melody Ferris of Monroe; five nieces and nephews: Richard Charles Ferris (Michelle Bevins), Andrea Lynn (Ira Lynn) Berry, Sharon Ruth Ferris (Tony Spear), Ronald Alexander (Raquel) Ferris, and Traci Ann Champagne (Ian Kroeger); seventeen great nieces and nephews; and sixteen great-great nieces and nephews. No public services have been planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734)384-5185. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to the Huber Family.
