Gwendoline Elsie Hibbs
September 20, 1926 - September 12, 2015
Gwendoline Elsie Ransom was born on September 20, 1926 in Ipswich, England. She was one of two children born from the union of the late Walter Ransom and the late Elsie Mayhew Ransom. During WWII, Gwendoline would meet her future husband, a United States Army Air Force Private, Wayne Hibbs. They were married in November of 1946.
In 1947, she moved to Indiana. Gwendoline was a proud homemaker to her husband, and they shared in the birth of three sons. They would move to Monroe in 1966 where Wayne would work locally supporting his family at Ford Motor Company.
As an animal lover Gwendoline always made room in her home for furry friends. She currently enjoyed the company of Ollie the dog and Pepper and Daisy the cats. Gwendoline always made time for her family and was adored by her grandchildren and affectionately referred to as Mum by her boys. She enjoyed knitting sweaters and gave baby blankets as gifts to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Proud of her English heritage Gwendoline flew the British flag in front of her home for many years. She loved listening to Tom Jones and watching old movies.
