Obituary of Anita Newton
Please share a memory of Anita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anita Rose Newton was born in Romulus, Michigan on March 5, 1942. She was one of two children born from the union of the late Clarence and the late Lela (Rhodes) Sword. Anita attended Taylor Center High School in Taylor, Michigan.
Anita married the love of her life, James W. Newton on February 6, 1960 at Taylor Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan. From this union came the birth of two wonderful children. Anita was a proud wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She had a huge heart and a contagious everlasting smile. More than anything Anita valued the time she spent with her family and friends. She enjoyed making crafts, especially knitting and crocheting footies for her grandkids. Up until the last few years, Anita spent a lot of time out on the golf course.
Anita was a great cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She was said to have a great green thumb, growing beautiful flowers in the summer months outside their home. Anita was very up to date on technology and spent lots of time playing games on Facebook. She and her husband spent three months annually in Clearwater, Florida.
Anita Rose Newton, age 73, of Newport passed away at 10:22pm, on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. Her passing was preceded by her parents.
