Obituary of David Dietz

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David Alan Dietz was born in Caro, Michigan on October 26, 1969. He was the only child born from the union of Richard Dietz and Louann (Martin) Dietz. He attended Jefferson High School and graduated with the Class of 1987. For fifteen years, David was employed as a Production Lineman for the Ford Motor Company. He took a medical retirement in 2005. More than anything in this world, David was a proud and loving father to his daughter Meagan. He was also anxiously looking forward to becoming a grandfather. David had two special companions with whom he shared a bond, his beloved Labradors: Midnight and Mocha. He enjoyed entertaining and cooking, and his favorite guests were always his family. David had a heart of gold. He was extremely loyal, generous and caring to his family and friends. He always had a helping hand to lend and would never say "no" to anyone. David liked Cushman Scooters and Mopar Classic Cars. He enjoyed bowling, visiting estate sales, and feeding his thrift shop addiction. An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He especially loved Northern Michigan. David Alan Dietz, age 45 of Newport, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 26, 2015. His passing was preceded by his maternal Grandfather: Clarence Martin; and Uncle: Joseph Martin. To cherish his memory, David leaves a beloved daughter: Meagan Dietz of Newport; two half-brothers: Jesse Nidiffer and John Nidiffer; a maternal grandmother: Virginia Martin of Monroe; two maternal uncles: Bruce Martin and Brian (Colleen) Martin both of Monroe; a maternal cousin: Stephanie Martin of Monroe; and one grandchild on the way. Friends may gather on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185.
