Obituary of Scott Stivenson

Scott Christopher Stivenson was born in Southfield on January 29, 1973. He was born from the union of the late James and Maria (Garcia) Stivenson. Scott was a 1991 graduate of Airport High School.
He spent more than twenty-one years employed by Ford Motor Company. Scott started in Production at the Monroe Plant, but had spent the past few years as a Chip and Scratch Analyst at the F-150 River Rouge Complex. He was a member of UAW Local 600.
Scott married the love of his life the former Heather Miller on July 23, 2011 at Crystal Gardens in Southgate.
Scott enjoyed entertaining others and was always the life of the party with his sarcasm and quick wit. Although, he often acted tough he was more of a teddy bear, being extremely generous and caring to his family and friends. Scott was also known for his O.C.D. keeping everything organized.
A talented musician, he enjoying singing and playing guitar in several bands performing Classic Rock and Top 40 hits. He was also an avid outdoorsman enjoying RV camping and 4-wheeling in St. Helens, Harley Davidson riding, and enjoyed golfing with his father for many years.
Scott, age 42 of Newport, passed away unexpectedly at 9:20pm on Thursday, July 16, 2015. His passing was preceded by his mother: Maria in 2008 and father: James in 2014.
To cherish his memory, Scott leaves a beloved wife: Heather of Newport; four children: Mercedes (Kaleb) Younker of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Breanna (Jesse) Crawford of Newport, Faith (Bryan) LaTorre of Martinsburg, and Jade Gilstorff of Newport; his sister: Lisa (Steve) Mehok of Newport; his father and mother-in-law: Richard and Linda Miller of Maybee; sister-in-law: Amber Miller of Newport; four grandchildren: Payten Younker, Aryanna Latorre, Aiden Crawford, and Jemma Younker; and four nieces and nephews: Paige and Sierra Mehok, and Paige and Sheldon Vallade.
Friends may gather from 5:00-8:00pm on Monday, July 20, 2015 and from 1:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, July 21 with a 7:00pm Rosary Service led by Deacon Ken Trabbic at Merkle Funeral Service; 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 also at Merkle's with Deacon George Cousino of Divine Grace Parish officiating. Procession will follow to Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
