Lucille B. Riddle
July 12, 1927 - July 6, 2015
Lucille Betty Petree was born in Monroe on July 12, 1927. She was one of four children born from the union of the late George H. and Vina (Graves) Petree. She attended Samaria Schools.
Lucille married Elmer Mehki in 1945 and from this union would come the birth of her three children. Tragically, Elmer would die in an auto accident in 1961. Later that year she married Eddie Riddle. The couple shared a special bond until his death in 2005.
Lucille was a homemaker and loved her family unconditionally, looking forward to each moment spent with them. She was simple, independent, always appreciative but more than anything proud and protective of her children.
Accepting the Lord at the age of 21, Lucille was a woman of amazing faith. She was a Prayer Warrior often reading her Bible and attending Sunday School and worship at her church Monroe Missionary Baptist. God- Fearing, she proudly shared her faith with all those around her. She was confident that her strength came from her Heavenly Father.
Lucille, age 87, of Monroe passed away at her home on Monday, July 6, 2015. In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by both husbands; her half-sister: Louise Johnson; and her sister-in-law: Ruth Petree.
To cherish her memory she leaves two sons: Douglas F. (Joy E.) Mehki of LaSalle and Larry Lee Mehki of Frenchtown; one daughter: Deborah (Jack) Poupard of LaSalle; four step-children; two brothers: Pernie Petree of Genoa, Ohio, and Daniel Petree of LaSalle; eight grandchildren: Stephen (Sara) Mehki, Andrew Mehki, Jordan Mehki, Tabitha Mehki, Tammy B. Maus (Joseph Sperr), Scott W. (Sara) Poupard, Douglas F. (Erica) Mehki II, and Lisa J. Withrow; eight great-grandchildren: Riley Mehki, Josephine Mehki, Emmett Mehki, Kayleen Gekle, Bryce (Rhandi) Maus, Madalyn B. Poupard, Amelia M.
