David M. Storck was born in Detroit on January 24, 1952. He was one of ten children born from the union of the late Raymond Charles and the late Elizabeth Janet (Orton) Storck. David attended Allen Park High School with the Class of 1970 later obtaining his General Education Degree. He continued his studies at Henry Ford Community College and obtained his Paramedic education through St. John Hospital in Detroit. As a young man, David began his career in Emergency Medical Services. He served several companies in the Wayne County area including Taylor Ambulance and Concord. He would marry the love of his life the former, Shannan Shaffer on January 31, 1991 in Southgate. From this union would come the birth of four children. The family received their spiritual nourishment attending St. Francis Cabrini in Allen Park. For the past several years, David had been working at Care Transport, transporting veterans to and from appointments. He truly appreciated this opportunity to serve former members of the military. David enjoyed public service and patient care. His gift of conversation and his great sense of humor, made him a joy to be around, and gave him the ability to comfort and cheer patients. He loved to entertain, often hosting Thanksgiving gatherings, or cooking his famous meals; burritos, tuna mac, and chili, for loved ones. He could be counted on for his storytelling and often embellished for the listeners delight. As an avid reader his interests were varied and his knowledge was immense. He loved to play trivia games, often played along with Jeopardy, and always outperformed his family and friends with random facts. David was an avid hockey and baseball fan being particularly fond of his Detroit Red Wings and Tigers. More than anything in this world, David loved his family. He always cherished time with them. David enjoyed listening to music, much to his children's dismay. Many favorite memories were created traveling to Northern Michigan where they enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing. David Michael Storck, age 63 of Wyandotte, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn after a brief illness. His beloved family was at his side. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by a sister-in-law: Carole Storck; and a brother-in-law: Kenneth Good.
