James Allen Steele
January 19, 1946 - June 6, 2015
James Allen Steele was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on January 19, 1946. He was one of seven children born from the union of the late Eugene Burdett and Lisa Mae (Cummings) Steele. James was proud to be in the United States Navy and served honorably.
James spent his life with his soul mate, Franclyn E. Barror after moving from Idaho to Monroe more than twenty years ago. James raised three children, was a hard worker and supported his family employed at Sisa Motor Freight as a Diesel Mechanic for the past eight years taking retirement in 2010.
James loved and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family. He had a special talent in woodworking and was known to have a special place in his heart for his beloved canine companions.
James, age 69, passed away at 7:40pm, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his home. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by a brother: Bob Steele
To cherish his memory he leaves his soul mate: Franclyn E. Barror; three children: Jammie (Robert) Miller, Charmaine, and Kayla Mae (Logan) Delaney; four sisters: Mary Garza, Donna Dara, Sherri,and Diana; a brother: Thomas Steele; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A private memorial service has been planned with the rendering of honors by Monroe Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1138 presiding.
