Terry Michelle Tafelski
September 9, 1966 - May 6, 2015
Terry Michelle Filla was born in Washington, Pennsylvania on September 9, 1966. She was one of six children born from the union of the late Gerald M. Filla and the late Judith A. (Reardon) Filla. Terry grew up in a Christian home and attended Waynesburg Central High School Class of 1984, where she participated in Marching Band and Rifle. After high school Terry attended Edinboro Uninversity in Pennsylvania.
Terry married the love of her life, Gregory Tafelski on July 3, 1989 at The Hitching Post in Coeurd-Alene, Idaho. As a member she received her spiritual nourishment at Southpoint Community Christian Church in Allen Park.
She lived life to the fullest, had a radiant smile and loved to laugh. Terry enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her children and grandchild. She was a Lifetime Girl Scout and Daisy Troop Leader and known for her creativity where she sold many of her creations at arts and crafts shows and on Terry's Artistic Treasures website.
Terry appreciated the outdoors, fishing, hunting and walking the beach shores. As an avid sports fan Terry followed her favorite teams, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers and Detroit Red Wings and Lions.
Terry Tafelski, age 48, of Allen Park, passed away at 3:49am on Wednesday, May 06, 2015 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her parents.
To cherish her memory Terry leaves her husband of twenty six years, Gregory Tafelski; her in-laws: Melvin and Annette Tafelski of Southgate; two daughters: Kayla Michelle Tafelski and Bethany Marie Tafelski of Monroe; one son: Ryan Scott Tafelski of Allen Park; four sisters: Wendy Dresser of Gulfport, Mississippi, Eleanor (Logan) Brubaker of Boston, Massachusetts, Ann (Brian) Matthews of Beaver, Pennsylvannia and Sally Bradshaw of Gulfport, Mississippi; her twin brother: Jerry (Angie) Filla of Perth, Australia; her brother-in-law: Keith (Lisa) Tafelski of South Gate; her sister-in-law: Rebecca (Rich) Brown of Huron Township; and three special friends: Kristen Schilk, Lynn Phillips-Barsoum, and Julie Ingram.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family. Friends may gather from 12:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday May 9, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will take place at 4:00pm on Saturday May 9, 2015 also at Merkle's with Pastor Mark Essick of Southpoint Community Christian Church officiating.
