Melody Ann Davis was born on February 17, 1954 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Gordon Lajiness and the late Oltea (Good) Lajiness. She attended Monroe High School.
For several years, Melody worked outside the home helping to support her family. She had been employed as a Cab Driver for Imperial Cab before retiring in 1998. Melody married the love of her life Ronald Lee Davis on July 17, 1998 in Toledo, Ohio. She led by example and was very strong willed and determined at everything she did. Melody was proud and supportive her of husband and children.
Melody had a passion for her Lord and Savior. She received her spiritual nourishment as a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
Melody was blessed with a beautiful voice. She enjoyed sharing her gift of voice with others and could often be found participating in karaoke in and around Monroe. Melody had participated in several contests throughout the years and had two different managers. She was also well known for her sense of humor and the joy received out of making others smile and laugh.
Melody Ann Davis, age 61, of Monroe passed away at 9:40pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at her home. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by two sisters: Diane Sense and Janice Akinson.
To cherish Melody's memory she leaves her loving husband of nearly seventeen years: Ronald Lee Davis of Monroe; two sons: Mark Wojcik of Texas, and Jason Wojcik of Florida; one daughter: Darlena Wojcik of Florida; a step-daughter: Coralan Kaye Elizabeth Peters of Monroe: and one brother: Roger Lajiness of Monroe.
Friends may gather from 10:00am until 11:00am on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 11:00am also at Merkle's with Reverend Roy Sutherland pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
