Mary Elizabeth Ferguson was born in Tazewell, Tennessee on October 23, 1927 the daughter of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Arnold) Ferguson. Mary married the love of her life, Junior Carmon, on October 31, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky.
The young couple would move their family to Michigan in 1950 where they would raise two daughters. Mary cared for her husband and girls as a homemaker for many years before taking employment with McDonald's. She worked as the Manager at the South Monroe and North Dixie stores before retiring in 2001 after thirty years of service. Mary was a faithful member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed participating with the JOYS Choir and taking trips with the group.

Favorite activities with the grandchildren included baking holiday cookies and traveling. Mary was well known for her cooking and she shared her special chicken and dumplings for family members' birthday celebrations.
