Christine Lackner

Obituary of Christine Ann Lackner

Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christine Malosh was born on January 19, 1968.  She was born from the union of Norman Malosh and Martha (Rothwell) Malosh. She graduated from Monroe High School with the Class of 1986.

Christine met and married Robert “Bob” Lackner and the couple was blessed with the birth of three children. In the early years, Robert and Christine’s days were filled with joyous activities, including their friendly competition in darts. Summer days were spent poolside, where Christine and her family immersed themselves in swimming and lounging.  Although they eventually went their separate ways the duo remained lifelong friends.

Christine’s adventurous spirit shone brightly in her love for amusement parks, particularly Cedar Point. She often recounted the thrill of the rides, especially the Gemini and the Blue Streak. It was on these very rides that Christine first introduced her children to the rush of excitement that a roller coaster could bring, their laughter echoing through the park as they braved the loops and drops together.

Saint Ignace, Michigan, also held a special place in Christine’s heart. The sound of slot machines and the thrill of chance in the casinos brought her great joy. She would often make trips there, reveling in the excitement of the games and the vibrant atmosphere.

Technology didn’t pass Christine by. She had a keen interest in the latest phone games, with Candy Crush and digital Monopoly being among her favorites. She loved the mental challenge they provided. Card games, too, were a beloved pastime, and she relished the good natured, competitive spirit of these games.

But of all the roles and titles she carried, being a grandmother was the pinnacle. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured all her affection and joy into their upbringing, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Christine Lackner, age 56, of Monroe, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday; June 7, 2024.  Her passing was preceded by her parents; a brother: Donald Malosh; and an aunt: Dixie, who was more like a mother to Christine.
