Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Foley

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Elizabeth Ann Snodgrass was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 3, 1952. She was one of five children born to Stanley Snodgrass and Emma (Hedden) Snodgrass. Liz graduated from Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan with the Class of 1970. During her marriage, Liz was blessed with a son, Ronald. She was employed as a quality technician at Amex Plastics for many years until retiring in 2018. Not one to stay idle, she returned to work on a part-time basis just a year later. Although she was never afraid of a hard day’s work, she greatly appreciated the simple act of relaxing on her chair after a long day.

For the most part, Elizabeth never cared much to venture far from the comforts of home. However, she recently took a memorable trip to Pennsylvania with a group of friends and happily reported that she’d had a wonderful time. Liz found her greatest joy in her grandson, Jacob. A member of the United States Air Force, she was extraordinarily proud of his service to our country.

Elizabeth Ann Foley, age 71, of Monroe, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Ebeid Center, in Sylvania, Ohio on Tuesday; May 14, 2024. In addition to her parents, Liz’s passing was preceded by her son: Ronald Foley on September 18, 2018; and her sister in-law: Joyce Snodgrass.

To cherish her memory, she leaves her grandson: Jacob Foley; a sister: Margaret Campbell of Carleton; three brothers: Robert (Tammy) Snodgrass of Hillsdale, Michigan, Wayne Snodgrass of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Curt (Ellen) Snodgrass of Georgia; and close friend and former co-worker: Calvin (Martha) Stump Jr. of Monroe.

Services will be private. Elizabeth’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, a division of Merkle Enterprises Inc.
