Matthew Marc Gonzalez was born in Dearborn, Michigan on Christmas Day, December 25, 1971. He was one of three children born from the union of the late Marcus Gonzalez and Linda (Goodin) Gonzalez. Matthew attended and graduated from Monroe Schools.
Matthew had an amazing personality and an awesome smile. He had the uncanny ability to draw others to him. Matthew was always upbeat and friendly. He seemed to find the amusement in life even in the most difficult of situations and lived life to the fullest. Matthew was very proud of his heritage and often read the bible. Matthew enjoyed cooking, sharing his creations with others whenever he was able. He liked listening to music of all types and his interests were extremely varied.
Matthew had a passion for serving others. This passion led him to seek additional education as a Paramedic and Fireman. He used his passion for winter skiing to serve as a volunteer on the ski rescue team.
Matthew enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid fan of the University of Michigan and of the Detroit Tigers. He was a John Wayne buff and he enjoyed collecting memorabilia and movies.
