Obituary of Diane Florence Younglove

Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Diane Florence Hoagland was born on December 26, 1944, at Wayne General Hospital in Wayne, Michigan.  She was one of three daughters born to the union of Clarence Henry Hoagland and Leda Medora (Sherman) Hoagland.  Raised in New Boston, she attended Huron High School, graduating with the Class of 1963.

On June 28, 1963, at the Methodist Church in Scofield, Michigan she married the love of her life, Harry Allan Younglove.  The couple were blessed with four children and attended St. Paul United Methodist Church for many years.  Diane cared for the needs of her husband and children while working outside the home.  In the 1970’s she was employed by Airport High School prior to taking a position at Fermi II for many years during its construction.

In 1984, Diane switched gears, working as a Reservationist for Northwest Airlines.  She remained in this role until Willow Run was closed in 1993.  At that time the couple moved to Texas where she took a job with Southwest Airlines.

Diane and Harry were members of a Texas camping group.  They enjoyed sharing their love of camping using their trailer or motorhome with family.   She loved children whether watching the school children frolic on the playground or making memories with her kids and grandkids.  When she wasn’t with loved ones she spent her free time quilting, being a member of groups in Texas and Oklahoma.  In March of 2020, the couple moved back to Michigan to be closer to their family.

Diane Florence Younglove, age 79 of Monroe passed away at 3:37am on Saturday; March 2, 2024, at her home.  She had been under the care of Heartland Hospice.  Her passing was preceded by her parents; her beloved husband on March 20, 2021; a sister: Kathleen Sinclair; and a granddaughter: Tia Ramsey.
