Please share a memory of Maryann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Maryann Brososky was born on June 3, 1943, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of four children born to the union of Charles and Elizabeth (Penteres) Brososky.  Maryann attended Dundee High School, graduating with the class of 1961.  Shortly after her graduation, on August 12, 1961, she married the love of her life, John Pietrowski at St. Irene’s Catholic Church in Dundee.  The couple was blessed with two beautiful daughters: Laura and Michelle.

Maryann earned a certificate in floral design from the vocational technical program at Adrian Community College.  For many years, she operated a flower stand known for her beautiful bouquets in Dundee, and supplied flower shops throughout Saline, Ann Arbor, and Monroe. She enjoyed growing and canning vegetables from the garden she and her husband tended to.  Each year, Maryann entered items in the Monroe County Fair, winning numerous awards including Best in Show for her flowers and vegetables,  and the silver cake plate award for her outstanding baking.

Maryann loved spending time outside at the family farm fishing in her pond for catfish and bluegill, deer hunting, and riding in her golf cart through the woods searching for morel mushrooms. Maryann also liked spending time on the Great Lakes fishing for salmon, walleye, and perch. Maryann and John spent many winters visiting their daughter Laura and son-in-law in Pensacola, Florida to enjoy the Mardi Gras Parade and Pensacola Beach. They also made three trips to Alaska to fish for halibut. The couple loved dancing and travelled to Minnesota to dance at the Big Joe Polka Show. Maryann loved music. She and John attended many concerts. While at the Hampton Manor, Maryann especially enjoyed her cardio drumming class.

Maryann will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and never missed their events.  She cheered them on as they performed in dance recitals, orchestra concerts, as well as competing in volleyball, basketball, and equestrian. She also loved her dog Daphne and enjoyed dog sitting her many granddogs.
