Obituary of David Matthew Rohmer

David Matthew Rohmer was born at Riverside Hospital in Riverview, Michigan on August 19, 1977.  He was the son of Robert Rohmer and Susan (Perry) Rohmer.  He grew up in Wayne County spending his whole life in southeast Michigan.

David worked as a laborer in several factories before declining health forced him to take a medical retirement.  In 2017, he moved to Monroe County from Gibraltar.  David met his fiancé: Angela Kay Benore while she was working as an attendant at the Exxon Gas Station.  He won her over with his great personality, smooth talking, and kindness.  The couple were blessed to spend 4.5 wonderful years together.

David enjoyed assembling Legos.  He kept his fishing pole close always ready to drop a line for a catch.  He enjoyed taking long walks with the peaceful tranquility of Lake Erie at Sterling State Park being a favorite destination. 

David Matthew Rohmer, age 46 of Monroe passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday; September 14, 2023.  He had been under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice.  His passing was preceded by his parents.

To cherish his memory, he leaves a fiancé: Angela Kay Benore of Monroe; two stepdaughters: Linda May Braden (Frank Jankowski) of Monroe and Leah Braden (James Talanges) of Temperance; an uncle: Jack Perry of Florida; two grandchildren: David Michael Braden and Christopher Walker Talanges.

No public services are planned at this time.  His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.  Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
