Obituary of Salem Kevin Zaas
Salem Kevin Zaas entered this world silently on Wednesday; August 30, 2023. This tiny soul, though physically taken too soon from this world, had a long-anticipated arrival. He has made a profound and everlasting impact on the hearts of his parents. The pure thought of his existence was a testament to their unyielding love and determination to become parents.
His mother, filled with excitement and love, craved an assortment of pickled items during her pregnancy. The tangy flavor of pepperoncini, the crispness of cauliflower, and the classic delight of pickles became her irresistible cravings. She would often indulge in these pickled items, cherishing the moments of satisfaction they brought. Additionally, a particular craving for soft shell beef tacos added another layer of unique culinary desires during this journey.
Salem’s parents find solace in knowing that his soul was greeted at Heaven's Gate by those loved ones who have gone on before: maternal grandparents: Karen and Tim Sullivan; a paternal grandmother: Tina Alexander; an aunt: Bethany Sullivan; and a great grandmother: Christine Arthurs. He will forever be watched over with love and tenderness.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents: Kaley and Joshua Zaas; a sister: October Zaas; grandfather: Kevin Alexander; three aunts: Sarah Gladson, Jennifer Szpynda, and Alisa Alexander; an uncle: Kevin Zaas and three cousins: Steve Gladson, III, Hayley Szpynda, and Christian Szpynda.
No public services are planned at this time. His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation will take place though the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
