Obituary of Robert Paul Nietubicz

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Paul Nietubicz was born on June 10, 1971, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of three children born from the union of Robert and Christine (Mason) Nietubicz Bohmler.  From a young age, Robert showed athletic prowess.  He was an exceptional athlete displaying great skill and dedication on the field.  He had fondness for baseball and football and was an outstanding outfielder.  Bobby attended Jefferson High School and graduated with the Class of 1989.

Robert was an avid baseball card collector.  His collection was a testament to his deep appreciation for the game, and his unparalleled love for Detroit Tigers star, Lou Whitaker.  Robert in retrospect was just as excited whenever he had the opportunity to watch Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers play.  His knowledge of players and their statistics was immense.

Robert had a deep connection to nature, finding solace in hunting and fishing. Countless memories were made at Point Mouille, the Garden Peninsula, and pursuing deer, and geese. Fishing expeditions to Lake Erie and Big Bay DeNoc brought him great joy and tranquility. Additionally, he shared a special bond with his father during their golf outings, playing on various courses.

Robert embodied the spirit of community and philanthropy.  He took part in the Sheriffs outings organized by both the Monroe and Lucas County Sheriff’s Departments.  With a generous heart he was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand or to give someone the shirt of his own back.  He enjoyed engaging in friendly card games, particularly euchre, with his father at Big Al's, the Breast Bay Club, and the Boat Club.

Max, his loyal and cherished companion, a gray and spotty Great Dane Labrador, was his constant source of companionship and joy. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond forging through countless adventures and sharing moments of pure happiness.

Robert Paul Nietubicz, age 52, of Newport, passed away unexpectedly at Corewell Health Hospital in Trenton on Thursday; August 17, 2023.  His passing was preceded by his mother and stepfather: Christine Bohmler and Ramon Bohmler; and his stepmother: Jacalyn Nietubicz.  To cherish his memory, he leaves a son: Robert Shawn Tyler Nietubicz; his father: Robert Nietubicz; a sister: Dawn (Ed) Parker; a brother: Douglas Nietubicz; one niece; and four nephews.
