Obituary of Sharon Marie Trombley

Sharon Marie Dehner was born in Olney, Illinois on October 29, 1949.  The only girl, she was the eldest of three children born to the union of George William Dehner and Doris Marie (Hahn) Dehner.  In 1951, the family moved to Monroe County so that her father could take a position with Ford Motor Company.  Sharon attended elementary school at St. Anne’s and St. John’s graduating high school from St. Mary Academy with the class of 1968.  She furthered her education by obtaining an associate degree from Monroe County Community College.

Sharon was friendly and outgoing, and for thirty-two and a half years, she was employed as an administrative assistant by the IHM Motherhouse.  Working in the healthcare department, she daily interacted with the sisters, relationships she truly cherished. 

Sharon married Michael Bernard Trombley, Jr on October 17, 1997.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where she enthusiastically sang in the choir.  She enjoyed spending time with her husband.  After her retirement she worked in security for Mega Fireworks.  The couple enjoyed deer hunting and fishing together.  She were also part of the second-class serving alongside Michael as members of the Frenchtown CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).

Sharon Marie Trombley, age 73, of Monroe passed away at 2:51pm on Tuesday; August 15, 2023 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her parents and a sister-in-law:  Barbara Dehner.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

To cherish her memory, she leaves a beloved husband of nearly 26 years: Michael Bernard Trombley Jr. of Monroe; a stepdaughter:  Holly Ann; two brothers: Duane Dehner and Brian (Ann) Dehner both of Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will lie in state from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Monday; August 21, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church; 127 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162.  The Mass of the Resurrection will follow at Noon with Father Brian Chabala officiating.  Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe for burial.  Her care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
