Obituary of Timothy Owen Grove Sr.
Timothy Owen Grove was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 15, 1955. He was one of seven children born from the union of Robert Walter Grove and Joan Burdick (Wolcott) Grove. He attended Jefferson High Schools graduating with the Class of 1973.
Tim married Denise Mang, with whom he shared the precious gift of two children. He was again blessed with the birth of his third child with his former spouse, Marilyn Meadows. Later on, he met the love of his life, Patricia Jean (Dame) Barker, and their beautiful journey together began with a heartfelt union at Trinity Lutheran Church on November 16, 2013.
Tim's determination and drive led him to attend trade school, where he honed his skills and completed an electrical apprenticeship. This marked the beginning of his more than thirty-five-year career, during which he worked for local companies such as Newport Electric, Jervis "JB" Webb Electric, and Local 58. Tim's expertise and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. He gracefully transitioned into retirement in 2017, embracing a new chapter of his life filled with relaxation, exploration, and cherished moments with loved ones.
However, Tim's contributions extended far beyond his career achievements. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he actively served in numerous capacities. As an Usher and Stephen Minister, he touched the lives of many, offering compassion, support, and guidance to those in need. Following his retirement, Tim took on the role of Facilities Director, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the church and school. His commitment to his faith and community was unwavering as he was also involved with Bethel Bible Study and he also completed two mission trips to Guatemala.
Tim's zest for life and love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies and passions. He found solace and joy at the family cottage near Prescott, Michigan, nestled just south of West Branch. An avid sports enthusiast, Tim loved hunting deer with his crossbow, relishing in the tranquility of nature. He and his loving wife, Pat, shared numerous adventures together, from worshipping at church to exhilarating motorcycle rides on his cherished Harley Davidson, where she was his most frequent and favorite passenger. Their shared passions extended to trips to Mexico and Las Vegas, where they relished in new experiences and made lifelong memories. Tim's love for fixing and renovating houses was evident as he and Pat worked tirelessly as a team, taking on ambitious projects and transforming spaces. He also had a knack for cards and was known as an outstanding euchre player, bringing laughter and excitement to every game.
Tim was a devoted family man, and his love and support for his wife, children, and grandchildren knew no bounds. He was a reliable provider, ensuring their needs were met and going above and beyond to make them happy.
