Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janet Frazier was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 1, 1953.  She was one of seven children born from the union of JL and Mary Elizabeth (Gilbert) Frazier.  Jan, as she would become known, was raised on the family farm.  Her childhood was filled with laughter and music.  With her father's banjo playing and the melodious strumming of guitars by Jan and her siblings created a harmonious atmosphere on the ranch.

Jan's passion for softball was evident at an early age, and she proudly played first base while her sister, Lawana, played shortstop. Their strong sisterly bond was formed on the softball field and would stand the test of time as the two never allowed a day to pass without some form of communication between them.  She went on to graduate with the class of 1971 from Huron High School in New Boston.

Jan was the self-proclaimed laundry queen at the nursing home where she dedicated ten years of her life. She was more than just a committed employee; she was a cherished member of her work community.  Her green thumb was well-known among her family, as she took pride in planting tomatoes and her beloved Kentucky green beans, nurturing these plants with care.

In later years, Jan found herself drawn to the warm shores of Florida. Roughly ten years ago, Lawana and her husband, Tom, made the journey south to bring Jan home to Michigan, solidifying their inseparable bond. Together, the duo shared countless grudge match pinochle games, creating memories that will be forever etched in their hearts.  In moments of leisure, Jan and Lawana would venture to the Northside Bar & Grill in Monroe, indulging in a burger and cocktail. They relished these outings, savoring the simple pleasures of life together. The sisters shared not only their love for good food and company, but also their thriftiness. Often seen exploring the local Salvation Army stores, they understood the value of a dollar and found joy in finding hidden treasures and unique items.
