Obituary of Timothy Francis Nester

Please share a memory of Timothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Timothy Francis Nester was born on March 8, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. He was one adopted son to the union of William Nester and Helen (Biala) Nester.  Following his high school graduation, Timothy furthered his education by attending the Center for Creative Studies to obtain a degree in graphic design, while working for an advertising agency.

As someone who had a less than perfect life journey, Timmy had always showed great determination and perseverance in his life.  Despite facing many setbacks and obstacles along the way, he maintained a positive and optimistic outlook and most importantly never gave up the fight, no matter how challenging it may have been.

Raised in a Catholic home, Timmy was no stranger to the church and its lessons; however, it was not until later in his life that he learned to appreciate the meaning, inspiration, and teachings of the Holy Bible.  He spent a significant part of his day reading and studying the Bible and was committed to living each day filled with faith.

Timmy was a rare comic book collector. Throughout his journeys he amassed a collection of various titles that he was quite proud of.  Possessing a deep passion for history, Timmy would find joy in building World War II tanks. He meticulously assembled each component of the kits, making sure all the pieces fit perfectly.  This very detailed work allowed him to appreciate the effort and ingenuity that went into designing these armored combat vehicles.  Timmy had built dozens of model tanks in his lifetime, and they were most definitely his pride and joy.

Above anything, he had the best times and most fun while camping with his family and close cousins.  The clan would set up their travel trailer locally in Chelsea and Brighton, and water ski behind his brother Billy’s speed boat. Along with his mom, dad, sister, Jean Ann and brother Billy, they traveled to camp in Florida and out west once but couldn’t wait to return to camp locally where they had made many friends and had the best times.

Timothy Francis Nester, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday; April 23, 2023.  His passing was preceded by his father: William J. Nester; a nephew: Joey Johnson; and many immediate aunts and uncles.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his mother and stepfather: Helen and Henry Piwowar; a sister: Jean Ann Boyes; a brother: William (Noreen) Nester; and two nephews: Jarod W. Boyes and Alex C. Boyes (Jodi Ferlito).

His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00am on Monday; May 1, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery; 900 Ford Avenue; Wyandotte, Michigan 48192.
