Obituary of Brenda Elizabeth Dykes

Please share a memory of Brenda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Brenda Elizabeth Shaw was born in Monroe, Michigan on May 25, 1952.  She was one of three children from the union of Willard Woodrow Shaw and Frances Ethel (Palanzo) Shaw.  She attended Airport Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 1970.

For more than twenty years, Brenda worked at Crafts 2000.   Being bubbly and extremely lively, she relished her role at the Service Desk.  Brenda was very crafty and talented, feeling more than at home in the store.  She also participated as a vendor in many craft shows for years.

Brenda had a wonderful sense of humor, often joking around to keep others on their toes.  She loved to cook receiving this gift from her mother.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family get-togethers.  She was quite fond of her grandchildren, always looking forward to spending time with them.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  An avid sports fan, Brenda loved all her Detroit Sports teams from the Tigers, Lions, Pistons, and Wings.   She also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.  To keep active for many years she bowled in various leagues and loved to dance.
