Obituary of Michael Wayne Redlin
Michael Wayne Redlin was born on November 28, 1954 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of four children born to Norman and Wanda (Snyder) Redlin. Mike attended Erie Mason High School where he lettered in baseball as an extraordinarily talented pitcher. He graduated with the Class of 1972 and following high school, was signed as a prospective player for the Detroit Tigers.
Mike was a man who valued a hard-day’s work. He was most recently employed as a concrete inspector for various businesses before retiring last year.
An avid sports fan, Mike enjoyed watching golf, football, and naturally, baseball. He continued to cheer on his favorite team, the Detroit Tigers, and was proud to have attended many games at the original Tiger Stadium and later Comerica Park. Mike often cast his fishing rod off the docks along Lake Erie just to see what was biting. He liked to try his luck daily on the state lottery numbers and scratch off tickets. Mike frequented the Toledo and Detroit casinos and could be found seated at the slot machines. When relaxing at home, Mike loved to tune into his favorite television program, “The Andy Griffith Show”. An animal lover, he felt that pets made the house a home and cared for many over the years. Mike’s fun-loving personality was always on display. His great sense of humor was sure to make anyone smile, and as a family man, Mike was deeply loving and adored his granddaughter, Marie.
