Obituary of Donnie Dennis

Please share a memory of Donnie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Donald “Donnie” Dwayne Dennis was born on November 11, 1969 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of two children raised by his mother:  Donna Jean (Dennis) Turner and his stepfather:  John Turner.   Donnie attended Monroe High School graduating with the class of 1987.

Donnie enjoyed fishing with the Raisin River being one of his favorite destinations.   He truly didn’t care what was biting but was most pleased when he hooked a Bass.  A sports fanatic, he was very fond of the University of Michigan Wolverine football team, loved the Detroit Tigers even if they were losing, and liked the Detroit Lions, but his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Donnie was a collector of baseball caps, he would collect any and all that he could but would always been seen wearing something that said Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers or Lions or the Dallas Cowboys.  Donnie enjoyed reading, spending countless hours engrossed in James Patterson classics.   He loved listening to all genres of music from the 70’s to the 90’s with the likes of Travis Tritt, Kiss, Pearl Jam, and Bob Seger counted among his favorite artists.

Donnie cherished the time he spent with family.   He had an insatiable appetite for candy, especially enjoying chocolate and Swedish fish the most.   His son Dalton remembers his dad raiding the Halloween candy bags after trick or treating on more than one occasion.  Donnie loved to make others laugh.  He often made-up silly songs about anything from making a sammich to nothing at all.   He was currently employed as a painter for the Paschall Apartments in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Donald “Donnie” Dwayne Dennis, age 53, of Dundee passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday; December 15, 2022.   His passing was preceded by a brother in infancy:  Randy Dennis and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

To cherish his memory, he leaves a son:  Dalton Dennis (Nicole Norwood) of Monroe; a stepdaughter:  Kelcie Myers (Johnny Vega) of Monroe; a girlfriend: Kim Roy of Belleville; his mother:  Donna Jean Turner of Dundee; a sister:  Miranda Heath (Jeremy York) of Dundee; and two nephews: Colin and Carson Heath of Milan.
