Alberta Pauline Mohr was born in Van Wert, Ohio on May 21, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Glen and Valone (Decker) Hockenberry.
For more than twenty years Alberta worked as a clerk for the Erie I.G.A.
Alberta was a proud and loving mother and grandmother. She took her role of mother very seriously and spent the time needed to raise and care for her family. Being a family person first, Alberta also raised one of her grandsons as her own. Alberta cherished the time she spent with her family and she was a terrific cook and baker. In her younger years she loved to ride motorcycles with her husband, and she had enjoyed bowling. Alberta was blessed with a green thumb and she liked to garden. She attended the Suder Avenue Baptist Church.
Alberta Pauline Mohr age 92 of Erie passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Fountainview of Monroe. She had been under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. In addition to her parents Alberta's passing was preceded by her spouse Raymond; a son: Jerry Stultz; a daughter: Jackie Adams; and a grandson Anthony Adams.
To cherish her memory Alberta leaves behind her three children: Joann (Arnold) Strzelecki of Temperance, Jeraldine (Randall) Daniels of Erie, and Rick (Barb) Stultz of La Salle; one brother: Richard (Mary) Hockenberry; twelve grandchildren: Mark (Amy) Stultz, Shawn Stultz, Terrie (Dennis) Voles, Kellie Dabrowski, Tracie (Geoff) Middleton, Matthew Strzelecki, Randy (Deanna) Daniels, Steve (Julie) Daniels, Misty (Joe) Fanola, David Stultz, Jeffrey Stultz, and Melissa Stultz and Jorge. Alberta also leaves twenty-two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 7:00pm; Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street in Erie (734) 848-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 7:00pm. Private burial will take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
